In the Mahabharata, Manibhadda is mentioned among the yaksas in Kuveras palace (ii.10, 397).
He is the tutelary deity of travellers and caravans (iii.65, 2553).
The Manibhadda are mentioned in the Milindapanha (p.191) together with tumblers, jugglers, actors, etc.
