°­¾±°ùÄå³ÙÄå°ùÂá³Ü²ÔÄ«²â²¹ (किरातारà¥à¤œà¥à¤¨à¥€à¤�).—During the life in exile in the forest of the PÄṇá¸avas, Arjuna performed penance to propitiate Åšiva in the HimÄlayas. Disguised as a forest-hunter Åšiva appeared on the scene and tested Arjuna’s valour. Arjuna won in the test and was presented the PÄÅ›upatÄstra by Åšiva. The story is told in Chapter 167 of the Vana Parva. (See under Arjuna).
