: What is India: Annual Report on Indian Epigraphy (1945-1952)1) I峁璦gi is an archaeologically important site situated in Ron-taluk (Dharwar district, Bombay), known for inscriptions regarding the ancient history of India. For example, at I峁璦gi there is a Kanna岣峚 inscription on a stone in the temple at the 艢ambhuli峁単a temple which states that the mah膩grah膩ra I峁弓age included in the Kisuk膩岣島 n膩岣島 was the native place of the king鈥檚 subordinate 艢r墨pati cham奴pa. Describes the Mah膩janas of the village and the teacher Bonteyadeva who belonged to this place and resided at Kanakapura (i. e., Hombal).
This inscription belongs to the Kaly膩峁嘺 Ch膩lukya dynasty and is dated 艢aka 976 (1054 A. D., May 10).
