: Shodhganga: Patanjalayogasutra bhasyavivarana (a study)ᾱṇyśٰ (हिरण्यगर्भशास्त्) is the name of a treatise written by Hiraṇyagarbha [Cf. Ram Shankar Bhattacharya, An Introduction to the Yogasutra, pp. 16-17].—The indication of a treatise related to Hiraṇyagarbha, i.e., Hairaṇyagarbha in the Pātañjalayogasūtrabhāṣyavivaraṇa, Ahirbudhnya-saṃhitā, etc. points to the existence of an ancient Togin named Hiraṇyagarbha. It is to be noted that the creator Brahmā also bears the name Hiraṇyagarbha. In addition, some scholars mention a treatise written by, Hiraṇyagarbha known as ᾱṇyśٰ. Yoga is originally considered a branch of Hindu philosophy (astika), but both ancient and modern Yoga combine the physical, mental and spiritual. Yoga teaches various physical techniques also known as āsanas (postures), used for various purposes (eg., meditation, contemplation, relaxation).
