In Buddhism
Tibetan Buddhism (Vajrayana or tantric Buddhism)
: Google Books: Jewels of the Middle WayThe Great Scope (i.e., “persons of intermediate scope who seek individual liberation) refers to a particular typology of training discussed in Atiśa’s Bodhipathapradīpa (vv. 25) that is followed by Kadampa and later by Gelukpa traditions. These Three Persons are the persons of small scope (who seek higher rebirth), intermediate scope (who seek individual liberation), and great scope (who seek Buddha-hood for the sake of all beings).

Tibetan Buddhism includes schools such as Nyingma, Kadampa, Kagyu and Gelug. Their primary canon of literature is divided in two broad categories: The Kangyur, which consists of Buddha’s words, and the Tengyur, which includes commentaries from various sources. Esotericism and tantra techniques (Բ) are collected indepently.
