Dīghacaṅkamana is the name of a building constructed by Devānaṃpiya Tissa (B.C. 247-207) at Mahāvihāra in Գܰ󲹱ܰ. Mahāvihāra, also called the Tissārāma, was a region in the Southern Area of the city of Գܰ󲹱ܰ, founded in B.C. 246 by Devānaṃpiya Tissa and presented to the great Thera, Mahinda. Its territory (including the Dīghacaṅkamana building) comprised the Jotivana (previously called Nandana) and Mahāmegha Parks, the area to south and south-east of the citadel.
