: archive.org: Jaina Yoga岣宧akkavatthula (啶⑧啷嵿啶掂い啷嵿ぅ啷佮げ) in Prakrit or 峁琣峁卥av膩stula in Sanskrit refers to a plant (Feronia elephantum Correa) that when, in its early stages (not mature), is classifed as 补苍补苍迟补-办腻测补, or 鈥減lants that are inhabited by an infinite number of living organisms鈥�, and therefore are abhak峁a (forbidden to consume) according to Nemicandra (in his Pravacana-s膩roddh膩ra v245-246). Those plants which are classified as 补苍补苍迟补-办腻测补s (e.g., 岣峢补办办补-惫补迟迟丑耻濒补) seem to be chosen because of certain morphological peculiarities such as the possession of bulbs or rhizomes orthe habit of periodically shedding their leaves; and in general theyare characterized by possibilities of vegetative reproduction.
