Source: Wisdom Library: Vāstu-śāstraJayāvaha (भद्रकू�) refers to a variety of 岹 (‘superstructure�, or, upper storey of any building), according to the Mayamata (5th-century guidebook on Dravidian architecture). It is part of the Catuṣtala (four-storey) group of 岹s.
The Jayāvaha variety has the following specifications and decorative motif components:
Number of talas (levels): 4;
Shape of ī (neck) and ś (head): Octagonal (over a square vedi);
Number of ś: 12;
Number of ūṭa: 12 (octagonal);
Number of 貹ñᲹ: 8;
Number of 貹: As many as required;
Number of : 16;
