Source: Wisdom Library: Āyurveda and botanyAsthyagni (अस्थ्यग्नि, “bone-fire�):—One of the seven tissue fires (Dhatvagni).—A Sanskrit technical term from Āyurveda (Indian medicine) and used in literature such the 䲹첹ṃh and the śܳٲṃh. This ‘fire�, or, ī, is related to asthi (‘bone�) and is responsible for converting the atomic portion of adipose tissue (medadhatu) into bone tissue called ٳٳ.

Āyurveda (आयुर्वेद, ayurveda) is a branch of Indian science dealing with medicine, herbalism, taxology, anatomy, surgery, alchemy and related topics. Traditional practice of Āyurveda in ancient India dates back to at least the first millenium BC. Literature is commonly written in Sanskrit using various poetic metres.
