: Shodhganga: Kohala in the Sanskrit textual tradition (gita)膧nandin墨 (啶嗋え啶ㄠ啶︵た啶ㄠ) refers to a classification of Prabandha based on five A峁単as (鈥渟ections鈥�) according to 艢膩r峁単adeva鈥擺Cf. Sa峁単墨tar膩ja, G墨taratnako艣a, Prabandholl膩sa, S奴岣峚prabandha prakara峁嘺m, p.552].鈥擯rabandha refers to 鈥渕usical compositions (that belong to the category of 苍颈产补诲诲丑补-驳腻苍补)鈥�. Its 补峁単补蝉 or 鈥渓imbs鈥� are six in number. A prabandha can have two, three, four, five or six 补峁単补蝉. Based on the number of 补峁単补蝉 present, prabandhas are classified into five groups (箩腻迟颈蝉). For example, 膧nandin墨 which has five 补峁単补蝉 and is alternatively known as N墨ti.
Gitashastra (啶椸啶むざ啶距じ啷嵿い啷嵿ぐ, 驳墨迟补艣腻蝉迟谤补) refers to the ancient Indian science of Music (gita or samgita), which is traditionally divided in Vocal music, Instrumental music and Dance (under the jurisdiction of music).
