Summary: The Sanskrit edition of the ### (lit. “the sutra of the lotus of compassion�) is an ancient Mahayana scripture devoted to Buddha Padmottara, possibly dated to as early as the 3rd century A.D. The Karunapundarika-sutra praises Shakyamuni’s compassionate activities in
the Kaliyuga (the degenerate period).
