Summary: The Karandavyuha Sutra: English translation. This 4th century Sutra extols the virtues and powers of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara and records his transformation into the principal figure of the Buddhist pantheon. The Karandavyuha Sutra is also noted for introducing the mantra 鈥淥m mani padme hum鈥� into the Sutra tradition.
