And it is adorned with forty-two ṇḍ. [4] ...

Commentary:

[Concerning the ornaments]

In order to symbolise the thirty-seven aspects of enlightenment, there is a diverse display (rol-mo sna-tshogs) of parasols, victory banners, and so forth which densely congregates like a mass of clouds (sprin-phung-bzhin). And it is adorned with the forty-two ṇḍ (dkyil-'khor bzhi-bcu gnyis-kyis brgyan) or different seats which beautify it, equal in number to the locations of the deities. There is no occasion for the deities themselves to be included among the ornaments of the celestial palace.
